Cranberry Bean soup in thermal pot

I used a 1.5litre thermal pot (2 pax portion)

Ingredients for soup: (agak agak)
2 pieces of pork bones with some meat
a bunch of cranberry beans (peel skin off)
Few pieces of dried scallop
3 red dates

Method:
Blanched pork bones with hot water. 
Put them in inner pot, add in other ingredients. 
Pour in hot water till 80% full and bring the whole pot to boil for about 10 mins. 
Then cover and put in the outer pot and close lid. 
I let it sit in the pot till after work. Approximately 12 hours. 
When came home from work, the soup is still warm. 
I heat it up on stove and add mee sua. 

Corn Soup in thermal pot

1 corn (break into 2)
Few pieces of dried scallop
3 red dates

Method:

Pour in hot water till 80% full and bring the whole pot to boil for about 10 mins. 
Then cover and put in the outer pot and close lid. 
I let it sit in the pot till after work. Approximately 12 hours. 
When came home from work, the soup is still warm. 
I heat it up on stove and add noodles, mushroom, fishball and beancurd skin.

Red Dates, Snow Fungus and Mango Dessert

have some spare mangoes in fridge, browsed through the website introduced by colleague and ended up with the following menu...yummy dessert...quick and easy...best is that you can choose to serve it HOT or COLD...i chose mine to be HOT anyway, cos i boil it early in the morning and brought it to office

Ingredients:
- snow fungus
- red dates
- diced mango
- sugar / rock sugar

Method:
(the night before)
- soak snow fungus in water until soft
- cut into small and big pieces, depending on preference
- throw the yellow hard part away
- keep in container and chill

(in the morning itself)
- boil a pot of water
- add in snow fungus and red dates, boil for 8-10 mins
- stir in diced mangoes and sugar (better to use rock sugar, but i was in hurry, so use normal sugar)
- boil for another 5 mins
- transfer to thermal pot (optional, i did that becos i wanna bring to office and keep it warm enough for all to try)

Stewed Minced Pork with Mushroom

Ingredients:
Minced pork
Dried mushrooms (Soak mushrooms in water and dice into small cubes)
Red shallots(sliced)
Water/ Vege Broth
Seasonings:
Light soy sauce
Dark soy sauce
Sugar
Sesame oil
some corn flour

Sauce:
Oyster Sauce
Dark Soya Sauce
Light Soya Sauce
Sugar
Pepper
Pinch of 5 spice powder

Method:
Season minced pork
Heat wok with oil
Fry sliced shallots till fragrant
Add mushroom and fry till fragrant
Add minced meat and stir fry until almost cooked
Add sauce ingredients
Transfer to inner thermal pot
Add water/vege broth and simmer on low heat for 15 minutes in inner thermal pot
Turn off heat and put to thermal pot the minced meat over night
Heat up again before serving

Sweetened Wheat Porridge Dessert (Mak Chuk Tong Shui)

1st time ever in trying to boil this "Sweetened Wheat Porridge Dessert (Mak Chuk Tong Shui)" cos this is his favourite. I'm using my smaller thermal pot for this...

Ingredients:
- wheat (gandum) (agak agak used 1 big handful, didn't measure it)
- sugar
- coconut milk
- water (i use approximately 1 litre)
- pandan leaves

Method:
- rinse the wheat, better to soak for awhile too
- boil water in inner thermal pot on stove
- add in pandan leaves, soaked wheat and boil for 15 mins
- transfer pot to thermal casing
- leave overnight
- heat up on stove the next day
- add in sugar and coconut milk before serving

Bak Kut Teh

Using La Gourmet Thermal Pot

Ingredients:
- garlic
- pork ribs
- A1 Bak Kut Teh pre pack

Method:
- Blanch ribs with hot water
- Boil a pot of water enough for 3-4 pax
- Add in ribs and garlic and the A1 BKT pre pack
- Put to boil for 10-15 with the inner thermal pot
- Transfer to thermal pot after that
- Approximately after 6-8 hours, the BKT will be well ready (i left mine overnight)
- Remove the inner pot and bring to boil before serving
